Longreach - Barcaldine - Charleville- Bourke.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6th July
We stayed 2 nights at Longreach as Pat wanted to go see the
Qantas  Museum. So I stayed back at the van and did some crochet work .
This free camp get very full.  I took this photo about 10,am
 and they were starting to come in.  By 3.pm all the best spots were taken.
Left Longreach on the 8th July and made our way to
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barcaldine qld  .Staying to nights here.
 Only a small town but very clean and tidy .

In the middle of town out the front of an old Railway Station

 There is a great big wooden cover over an old dead  gum tree

 That has been perceived it is said that this tree was were the workman’s union started.
 The site of the 150-year-old, 10-meter Ghost Gum located in the center of
 Barcaldine town central west Queensland.
It is a symbol of an important time in Australia's political development.

 It was used as the meeting place for shearers during their unsuccessful strike of 1891.
 During that strike, as well as the maritime strike of 1890, a crucial and historical connection was forged between unions and what was to become the
 Australian Labor Party.
 In April 2006 the Tree of Knowledge was poisoned and did not recover.
 It was felled and  perceived.  So  on 29 July 2007 the site remains an important place of
 National Heritage.
The Tree of Knowledge was included in the National Heritage List on 26 January 2006.

When the wind blows the wooden logs bang together and plays  musical notes.
It is light up of a night time

just having some fun on a music wooden thing

 While out for a look around we had to slow up for the
 cattle being driven along the edge of the road
to feed on the greener grass we gave them a wave  and the two young men waved  back.
and started creaking the wipe  for us  that sounded so good.

10th July
We left Barcaldine  and drove on towards Charleville and found a Bush camp
just  out of town only $20. A night with power and water. So we are staying to nights here.

Behind the tin fence they all sit around the fire and have a talk and eat on munchies
 they call it happy hour.

Just going to sit  in the sunshine to get warm

 This is a lovely old Queenslander house they look so great done up.

While waiting for Pat to come with our car witch you can just see him coming along the road far right . I took a photo of an old Pub called - Old Charleville -
