Darwin Dam 12th June to the 118th
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We left the other park to go closer to Darwin.
but here are somephoto taken just be for we weft the Tubule Waters Park.
We all went to see the Darwin Dam and was so windy
but the Dam is great and very big.
While walking along the dam wall I sat down for a rest but had to jump up very fast.
 as my poor old trolley fell apart.
Were it had been welded befor.
So I am sitting on the wall. So looks like will have to buy a new one.
Ronnie and Arnold  taking photos.
Pat Ronnie and Arnold all said the poor old wheels have been working hard.
Going over all the rough paths and all that stuff.
Pat and Arnold went for a walk down to the river near our caravan park  a few days ago.
Be for we left the caravan park.   He took some good photos of the river
This is the Darwin River.
 In World War 11.   The Americans  made a dam to separated the river in two .
 By doing this they had fresh water on one side.
as top photo shows.
 So the bottom part of the river stayed as salt water.
On Tuesday 10th June we went into Darwin to buy my new set of wheels.
 Now I have a stronger walker so they say. had the old one for 4 years.
Photos of Darwin central  it did not seem very busy to us.
I think it is like other towns. They put in new shopping centers that take the people
away from the town shops.
Leaving the old Caravan Park witch we were happy to.
As it was very dusty from the road.
As the cars go past you get dust come in the van.
12th June getting ready to go
Darwin 3rd - 12th.June - Tumbrel Water Caravan Park
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   ~~~~~~~
We are of to see some of Darwin to day been wanting to do this for so long.
It has just been a dream of mine to see Darwin.
 Ronnie and Arnold are taking us to the Darwin Pier to have lunch.
But first we had to go through a lot of smoke. As they are burning off.

We drove on to the pier and walk along to a lot of food shops.
 Were you pick what you want then go sit under the shade eat you lunch.
 looking at the sea. we enjoyed that.

Here are some of the photos I took of the Bombing Darwin.

They had a Naval ship in dock.

Here are some photos Pat took around the park we are staying at.

They have a creek fenced off.
As they have so salt water crocks in there

Ronnie and I walking back to caravan.
Was a bit warm that day so were both thinking of our air cons.

Well here we are at Berry Springs. After slowly going down the steps.
 The boys take my four wheels for me and I hang on the rails

We are getting ready for a swim

Arnold was first in and as the water was lovely and warm.
It did not take me long to get in.
 Just hang on the rail to the last step then sat down and fall into the water.

Arnold helped me get over to the water fall.
Witch was not easy as the water coming over the falls was so fast.

Then Arnold said. Come on Maureen you have to have a go of going under the water fall.
so I said 123 here we go. I went under could not see anything but water and a bump on the head.
But when I came back out my hair was all over my face and could not see anything.
But while Arnold was holding me with one hand he was loosing  his swim togs.
 With the force of the water on them That made me laugh even more.
 I could not stop laughing and so load everyone was looking at me and laughing to. .
But so much fun.

Ronnie and I hanging on to a rock Just  resting.

Ever one seemed to go for lunch.
 So had the water fall to our self's for a short while.
 So thought I would have a another go at getting to the water fall.
I made it and said to Ronnie come come and have a back massage.
 Arnold helped Ronnie over. it was all good fun.

A photo Pat took of looking further up the river.

We had lunch after our swim, And I forgot to bring my brush so it was wet and wild.

1st June 2014

Back again with some Last minute Photos
before we leave tomorrow

Pat feeding his friend the Peacock.
 He comes to the van to see if he has a feed waiting.

Love this Photo so I have called it Boot Tree Hill.

 Boot Tree

 The old work shed near our camp site.

 If you look closely you can see the iron bed frame embedded in the roots.

Up the back of the park they have tent camps for when the small tour buses come in.

This is our campsite - we are on the right side.

Feeding a baby Bull Mervin .

  Ronnie and I save our scrapes of food to feed Nigel.
 We called him over.
After a while he came over  for a feed .

His tongue  is so rough  but he is a big softy.

 But leaves you with  a sloppy hand.

Having a rest and talking to Arnold as the animals are all full up.

Well that is all for now till we are at our next park
Love to all Maureen and Pat
