27th May at Litchfield National Park

27th May at Litchfield National Park
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi To all my family and friends I have some more photos for you to see
We are at Litchfield water falls .
This one is called Florence Falls
 is so lovely to stand and watch it and hear the water.
Their are steps to go down. But far to many for me to do.
I was quite happy to watch it all from the top.
 Ronnie and Arnold said last time there were here they went down to the bottom
of the falls and had a swim.  Arnold went under the water fall.
 It really looks a beautiful lagoon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After we left the Florence Fall .
We went on to see the
Wangi Falls witch was just as beautiful as the last one.

We went for a walk around the other side. So as to take more photos.

Pat and Ronnie took a lot of photos
 but could not put them all on the Blog.

Ronnie took this one for us I love the back ground.

We love this photo it really came out so good.
 But to hear the water falling was so wonderful.

As you can see there were plenty of people enjoying a swim.
 It looks so cool but was told the water was cold.
So we made do with a Magnum ice cream.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back at the Bundy Station.
Well hear we are with another part of Bundy Station for you to read.
Pat and I went down to have a look at the river but was looking a bit muddy green to us.
But we both were more interested in looking out for crocks that live there.
So we just took a photo and left.
Down near the swimming pool is a lovely old Brahman Bull called Nigel.
 He love a scratch and a pat and comes over to say hello.
 Ronnie gave him some bread he loved that.
Nigel is 9 years old and  is a pet and so he gets plenty of pats and treats.
 .
Next week we will be in Darwin so looking forward to that.
It has been a dream of mine for years
 to see Darwin. and go to the Mindie  Markets
on the water front, so keep watch as there will be plenty of photos then.
By for now love you all Maureen and Pat xxxx
Mount Bundy Station NT Australia 25th May to the 2nd June
Mount Bundy Station NT Australia
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our stay from 25th May to the 2nd June

looking at the entrance to Mount Bundy Station with the owners house
on top of the hill over looking his land.
The original owner was Fred Hardy  Back in 1911 he was a Buffalo hunter.
His Property then was 1.1 million acres witch then  covered the  boundaries
of  all litchfield  National Park.  Also all of the Kakadu National Park.
He lived here till 1940. At the age of 59 years when he died in a horse race.
  He is buried on the hill to look over the land he loved.
But in 1942 Darwin was bombed the Americans made this there defense base.
Being there are plenty of high hills for cover and rivers to help detected incoming submarines
they could also  repair there bombers.
While here they built some of the cabins that are still  here today and used
 as the bunk houses for the workers that live here.
To day they still run Braham Cattle  and Quarter Horses
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our Caravan site is parked right under the trees so we are shaded well .
Our van is on the left and Pat is reading his book.
Ronnie and Arnold s is on the right.
Just be hind our van is a lovely old tree called  a Banyan Tree.
I love the way the roots have grown and hanging down.
As you can see I have put in the Ladies showers witch they call
( Cows )
See they have used horse shoes as hangers looks great
they have cut the horse shoe in half to make a hook.
The shower look different all tin but very clean.
 It is all inside of a big barn cows one side and the Bulls on the other.
Douglas Hot Springs Northern Territory 19th - 22nd. May
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We stayed here for 3 night and it was very hot with just a light wind in the mornings.
By the after noon the wind had stopped and showed my van at 39 c
so ask Pat to put the generator on so I could cool down with air con on .

Well I did have a go at climbing down the steps to the creek and made with Arnold s help.

Some parts of the creek were shallow but I stayed next to an old log. it was a bit deeper there.

But the best part was trying to get up.
 With Pats help I did it ok but had very sand graveled knees.

By the time I made it back up to the top of the stairs.
We were so hot you wanted to be in the water again.

We have a lot of birds came around and the hawks just loved coming.
Ronnie was feeding them poor Arnold's Sausages.   : (
  By throwing bits up in the air.
They swooped down to catch some them and just waited till we were all quiet
so they could get the rest.

After leaving Douglas Hot springs we traveled on to the next part
Adelaide River NT

 would like there photo taken

 Pat enjoying a beer befor the dinner came .

 Ronnie and Arnold said please hurry we are hungry.
But when our meals did come so did the flies in droves.
Was very hard to eat and keep the flies of our dinner.

Our Stay in Pine Creek On the 15th and 19th May
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 . We stayed at a free camp a few ks up the road from
 Pine Creek in the bush.
It was on the second night that we met a lovely young couple from Paris. They had pulled in to spend the night in there car. Ronnie went to have a  talk with them when they said it is there 5th wedding anniversary. so Ronnie had baked an apple pie that afternoon.
 I had cooked special fried rice and chicken pieces.
So we gave them a serving to each of each for them to celebrate.  Then we took photos to keep.
They left early next morning but I said good by.
leaving the free Camp and heading back to Pine Creek.
As we have been told that up in Kakadu it has been raining and the roads are closed.
 So we booked into Pussy Flats Caravan park for 2 nights -17th and 18th May
 It was an old race horse track.but is a golf course now.
  So I said to Arnold and Pat.  lets go and have a photo taken at the wining post.
Ronnie tried to mount her ride. But the little legs collapsed.
So much fun .
That night we thought it might rain but no it did not happen.
